Read about it here.

Dear Evergreen Neighbor,

I was born and raised in San Jose, and I have lived in Evergreen for over thirty years. I care deeply about this community and its future. That’s why I have decided to run for San Jose City Council to replace Vice Mayor Dave Cortese who is leaving office due to term limits.

Our next councilmember will face serious challenges. We need real leadership to solve San Jose’s budget problems and make sure that local government is transparent and efficient. And we need to invest in Evergreen by promoting smart growth, fixing traffic gridlock, improving our schools, and bringing in more quality retail stores and restaurants.

I am running for City Council because I have the passion and skills to tackle these challenges head-on.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force, I built and ran a software manufacturing company with 150 employees. I now work as a business consultant for high-tech companies.

I have counseled at-risk youth and worked on gang prevention for the county, and I am active in efforts to improve local care for the elderly. With the help of people from across our community, I founded Involved Evergreen, an organization that is working to revitalize Evergreen Village Square.

As an entrepreneur and business leader, I will make sure that local government is efficient, transparent, and focused on results – not on politics. As a community advocate, I will work tirelessly to improve our neighborhoods and our quality of life.

Please join me in standing up for Evergreen. I would appreciate your vote, your volunteer hours, and – at this critical stage of the campaign – your financial support.

With your help, we can win more than this election – we can win a better future for our community.

Sincerely,

Rose Herrera
